Best Movies of 2010 = Toy Story 3 & Inception

The two best movies this year are, without a doubt, Toy Story 3 and Inception. I've had the privilege to see both on the big screen....as I feel that's the only real way to watch a movie. On a television set it just seems too...television-y. There's just something great about seeing it on a big screen in a movie theater with total strangers that brings a magical experience with it. In fact if I ever make tons of money I plan on having a room with a projector and screen in it to watch movies, both with myself and with friends. But now I'm starting to ramble, onto the good stuff.....

**WARNING: Spoilers are ahead**

If there's one thing Pixar is great at it's storytelling. They are MASTERS at this. There's a reason the Toy Story franchise is one of the, if not the, highest rated trilogies in Hollywood history--the storytelling is phenomenal. It has stuff in it that both adults and children will enjoy. This is one of those movies that an entire family ranging from 5-500 can enjoy (yes, I said 500). This was a movie i've been looking forward to for a very long time. It's also one of the few I wanted to see at it's midnight release. This was a movie that could survive on it's own, even though it's the last of a trilogy. The humor and plot in this is way beyond a normal kids movie, which is something Pixar is known for.

The plot itself isn't complex, but the way the story is told makes you root for these animated, fictional toys to the end. This is probably the ONLY movie I've seen where I've had a real emotional attachment.....DAMN YOU PIXAR! Why do you make a movie where I feel like if the toys die than part of me will as well? Why do you make a movie where even though I know it's a kid’s movie I find it hard not to cry at the end? Why? When the toys were going down towards the fire I felt genuinely sad, but then when they were rescued I instantly laughed. How can a movie make you do a complete 180 in your emotions? How can it make you wanna cry (or, for many, actually cry) in the end when the owner plays with his toys for the last time before donating them to a child, almost another form of "passing the torch" ...even the ones he treasures the most? It's because the masterminds at Pixar have done what others in Hollywood are slow to get good at--telling stories that engage the audience in the most extraordinary of ways.

There's not really a whole lot more to be said about the movie than this. Quite simply put, this is a great movie.... not just a great kids movie, a great movie. It had drama, suspense, humor, and most importantly heart. This movie makes you wonder why all films can't be told like this--why can't leave a theater feeling like you do after watching this one.
If there's one movie you absolutely need to see, it's this one.

From the get-go Hans Zimmer's music brought me in. Inception is a phenomenal piece of filmmaking. It takes us into a world where dreams do seem real. Christopher Nolan does an amazing job at two things he does well, making things look like they're real and tell a great story. The special effects aren't incredibly overdone for something that's supposed to take place in a world where anything is possible. It could've been a clusterfuck of CGI, but Nolan's better than that--even stating he'll never do 3D movie (THANK GOD, SOMEONE ANTI-3D IN HOLLYWOOD!). It was beautifully shot, as has been his other projects. Whoever he has doing the lighting, set design, anything--I know it's the same people, because he's loyal--always does an amazing job. The environments they create look so real in their design, lighting and photography that it's hard to imagine it's in a film-let alone a dream.

The story itself is great. One downside may be that everything is explained--or not explained, such as how they can share dreams, which I don't recall being explained--in such a way that if you miss it you may be lost. It's a complex story that keeps the audience thinking, but entertained throughout. It seems weird to call it a heist film, but it is that in many ways. It's also a drama-thriller with some slight comedy thrown in. It's proof that a summer blockbuster can still be smart, not just some CGI crapfest with animals doing odd things. The characters do a good job at providing enough action, comedy and drama to keep you entertained. Leonardo DiCaprio has been steadily becoming one of my favorite actors. He's been in great stuff lately, stuff that's entertaining and not just some crap movie to get money like some people (I'm looking at you Eddie Murphy, "The Rock", Vin Diesel, ...).

He plays a great character that is very tortured on the inside, and this is tricky because he tries to show his team that he's not. An actor has to portray this weird feeling on screen convincingly because the audience knows of the tortured soul inside, meaning that he needs to convince even those who know that he's got something to hide.....and DiCaprio's performance in this movie (as well as in Shutter Island--another great movie) leads me to believe that he'll be around for a long time. As for the other characters, they all did great. I think the casting in this movie was perfect—the actors portrayed their character great. They draw you in, get your attention and refuse to let you go on a journey that twists through the very fabric of reality. In the end, that's an actor's job....but everyone pulled this off great. But let's get back to the real star of this movie: the dreams.

They look real, feel real, act real. However, you need to pay very close attention........in the movie there's talk of dreams EVERYWHERE--there's even an instance where there's a dream with 5 levels. However, after viewing this movie I've come to the conclusion that everything within the movie is a dream. The ending is left ambiguous, leaving the audience to guess for themselves-but if paid close enough attention you can tell it is. The chase between Cobb & the men from the Cobol Corporation trying to kill him leave two pretty big clues.....one is the buildings he gets stuck between. This is a classic dream cliché--when anxiety rises, walls close in. After getting out he runs into Saito almost immediately. In a city of thousands in another country is this very possible? I think not....the only place it makes sense is a dream. Another very slight clue is when he's told to wake up by his father (played by Michael Caine).

I also believe another clue was when he waits until the end of the film to spin his totem. The first thing Cobb does when he first awakens a dream is spin the totem to see if it's reality or a dream. Why would he wait at all to spin the totem after coming out of a stay in limbo, which could've lasted god knows how long? He doesn't question anything and doesn't spin....but he finally spins it when he's back home and sees his kids--which is the last clue I'll give. The kids are in the same exact clothes in the same positions the entire movie, even at the end. This is how his mind perceives them.....in that state, in those clothes, in that position....and that's how it's going to stay.
It's in obvious sight....you just need to pay attention.

Both of these movies had one thing that a lot of Hollywood movies seem to be missing nowadays: great storytelling. I strongly recommend seeing both of these--you WILL NOT be disappointed.

What Controversy?

This whole Arizona Immigration Law thing is getting out of hand. Really......people are making a bigger deal out of it than they should be. Some people are saying it's unconstitutional, while other's say it's about time we uphold the laws that are actually wirtten.

Well....I say this law is something that's a long time coming, and needs to be national. Illegal Immigration is a BIG problem in this country,with something along the lines of 14 million in this country through illegal channels--and it's still growing. There's nothing wrong with stopping people and asking them for their papers--which FEDERAL LAW states Immigrants must carry on them at all times to prove they are here legally. If they don't have it then they should be tosses outta the country, simple as that.

These illegals are taking money that should be used by the government (federal, state and local) for the people of this country that need it that are either born here legally (another problem, since anyone born here is automatically legal-regardless of their parents' legal status) or went through the proper channels to become a legal US citizen. Money allocated for schools, health care, welfare,etc. is all screwed up because of the illegals WANT to stay here illegally but their FEAR/NEED to tell us they're here.

What we need to do as a country is cut off any and all benefits to these people, and not allow illegals to go to school at any level. Do this and they'll either leave the country or actually go through the processes to become legal. I for one don't care if people wanna come to this country--this is a country of immigrants after all--but they NEED to come here legally. If they leave the country or become legal/start the process than I think EVERYTHING will get better (even if it's only a little bit).

The people that are saying that this is wrong are probably illegal themselves, know someone that is, or are related to someone that is. I can almost guarentee you this.....cause anyone protesting this saying it goes against our laws obviously hasn't done their homework. And people protesting this say that it's racism in action.......people, it's not racism-it's illegal!
Other countries have been doing it right, about time some action is taken in this runaway country.

Oh, and I can almost guarentee you that if this wasn't a crackdown on illegal immigrants of mostly hispanic descent (you know, cracking down on illegal Russians or refugees or whatever) than there's wouldn't be any "controversy".....who are the racists, truly?

My First Documentary........Charlie Chapman: Quartermaster of the USS Indus!

This is my very first attempt at a documentary & I'm very, VERY proud of this.....and I wish I was able to make it longer, because he gave such an amazing interview--maybe I will one day. But yeah,......if you or someone you know is a fan of World War 2 than I suggest giving this a viewing.

Last week my teacher was going through a list of his favorite movies of all-time and which would be his #1, and it made me think about what mine are......then I thought maybe writting them down would help, and it half did.
I say it half did because it helped me define a top 10 list, but I don't think I can give them ranks. So I've got a top 10 list and another list of 10 to round out the rest. So, here's the list of my top 20 favorite movies of all-time (as of March 25,2010) in no specific order:

My hope is that in the coming months I'm able to view them and any other good movie suggestions. It's my hope that this list changes over time,as it's my belief it should be ever-changing--if it doesn't than cinema has not only failed me,but you as well.

Random Rant #1

I just feel like ranting a little bit.....after all, that's what blogs are for,right?
Please be advised, there's language used and content that you may not agree with. So don't say I didn't warn ya........oh, and I may sound like a bitch or jerk or a whiner, BUT whatever. I'm not writing this for the approval of the 5 people that will end up reading this. I'm writing this to vent and give my honest opinion--which is healthy ^_^
Oh yeah....this is a long rant, so you don;t NEED to read it. But whatever you decide, please go to the VERY end of this and watch the video--it's amazing! =]

Well.....basically I'm just really annoyed with people, and sad to say it's people I know and like.
Let's start with people who complain about their job. I've heard countless people say that they don't wanna do this, or that, or say that they do homework during work.......I'm sorry, your not at a place of employment--you're at a magical place where only what YOU want matters. REALITY CHECK! YOU'RE AT YOUR JOB!!! THE PLACE WHERE YOU'RE PAID TO DO THOSE "SHIT THINGS" YOU DON'T WANNA DO! Here's the scoop....a LOT of people don't like their job. As much as I love my job, there are moments I hate it....but I never once complain about having to do this or that, unless it actually IS unfair--not just because I don't feel like doing saomething. I'll admit I do homework at work sometimes--but that's only when it's dead! I don't do it when I'm supposed to be doing actual work and try to avoid doing work so i can do homework. Seriously, do it AT HOME. If you "don't have the time" then MAKE the time. If that's too hard to make a few hours a week to do homework at home, then life is going to end up shitting on you and smiling as it does. Bottom line here is that you gotta do what you gotta do....not what you wanna do. Grow the fuck up people! If you disagree with any of that then there's a serious problem in your life, and you should aruge with a mirror--and record it, you might gets millions of hits on YouTube.

Speaking about popular websites, let me talk about Facebook for a second. I love it, it's a great tool to communicate......but comeon people, there's a limit. For example.....I don't wanna join in on the farmville, yoville crap. I rejected the first 20 invites, and I don't wanna join in on looking at virtual cows. The other thing I hate is people talking about other people in their status updates, but not directly stating who they're talking about. This has happened to me a few times......gesh people, grow a backbone and actually talk to this person—and not over facebook, do it in real life (or IRL for my basement-dwelling readers out there). Also, what’s the deal with the status’ that are music lyrics and not indicating it as such? Some of them aren’t said to be lyrics and then I worry about the people, only to find out nothing was wrong and they’re having an ice cream party with confetti everywhere.

Lastly, relationships. Since the beginning of this year I’ve kept seeing people breaking up and getting back together and all that all over my news feed on facebook.......is their new year's resolution to not stay in a relationship? Oh my God…..a GREAT majority of these people complain and bad mouth each other via Facebook and then get back together 5 days later. You act like it’s the worst thing in the world when you break up, and I do nothing but laugh. It’s hilarious that you think you found love at 17 and then proceed to be depressed and wish to be invisible and a LOT of people complain that they did nothing but positive things and that it shouldn’t have ended that way. Half do that, and half pretend it’s the best thing ever or say it’s the way things should’ve ended……then 5 days later you’re back together, saying either it’s back to normal or “It’s complicated”. Let me fill ya in on a little secret there buddy….chances are that it won’t last. A majority of the people that do this are doomed to failed relationships, due to one of many things (a list so long that it would stretch along the Great Wall of China). I know a few people right now in these situations…..and I can damn near guarantee that one of them will fail thanks to sex and the other because she just can’t admit to herself that there are certain things she can’t get over and will lie to make herself feel better about the things she won’t admit too (if those things are too specific and the people reading this figure out it’s them then I apologize—but look on the bright side, I didn’t & won’t name you :D ). Sad thing is that these are reasons a lot of relationships fail, and a lot of times people refuse to acknowledge that this is them. Yeah, I haven’t had a relationship….ever, for multiple reasons…so should I be able to talk? Technically, no I shouldn’t even be mentioning this stuff. But look at me and tell me this isn’t true about A LOT of people out there (regardless of age). It irritates and enrages me mainly for one reason…..these idiots have no idea how lucky they truly are.

There are only a few things left on my mind. One of them is my personal life. I won’t go too into detail…but my parents are getting divorced, and while it’s not tough for me like it would be for a kid—it IS tough because my house has become divided and bitter. It’s enough to make me wanna move out….and if I had the money I honestly would at this point. The other thing I won’t get to into detail about is my love life….if you can call it that. I like people that either I’ll never get, I’ll never trust again or I refuse to chase because of my incredibly strong morals/beliefs that can’t ever be changed. I’m single now and will be for a long time if the present is any indicator. Next up is school. I’m sick of it and want it to end. I’m one of those people who simply doesn’t think college is for them—and frankly I’m only completing it for the degree….otherwise I’d be out of it. Now I’m getting to the project-heavy area of my studies….so I’m hoping that cutting back from 5 classes to 3 will help somewhat. In the long run I’m there longer—which is the LAST thing I wanna do—but hey, at least I’m not killing myself finishing it. After I’m done with this round of college I wanna be done with schooling forever. At this point I just wanna work….cause I love what I do. Like I said before, there are times I dislike it—but I can’t possibly see myself working anywhere but LynnCAM. Working there I get to help people, do multiple aspects of video production and get to know tons of awesome people. I hit the jackpot for what I do and like doing. =D

So yeah, that’s all. If I offended you..…..well, in the immortal words of Dr. Bob Kelso (from [Scrubs] ) "Hey, champ! What has two thumbs and doesn't give a crap? Bob Kelso! How ya doin?"

“Well, if I wasn’t here I’d be watching not-music on MTV.” Those are the words I said to a friend at a cookout a few years ago, and it caused immediate laughter from myself, her and two others who had overheard it. But when I said this, I was being dead serious. When was the last time anyone had seen good music on MTV? It’s been a while since we’ve seen the days of “Video killed the radio star”, “Thriller” or even N*Sync videos. MTV, in its heyday, was a constant target for popular culture. It was constantly referenced, revolutionized the music industry, and brought forth the concept of the VJ. Today MTV has a cesspool of reality and other pop culture programs aimed at the teenage and young adult demographics. The executives for the network recognized the ratings that reality TV shows like “The Real World” provided them and began to make more and more programs like it and cut back the music that was once it’s centerpiece. Executives want more ratings for their network, and they follow what’s “popular” to get that. At this point in time, Americans love reality television. With shows like Big Brother, Survivor, and The Real World not only ruling the ratings but infiltrating our popular culture it’s hard to ignore reality tv’s impact on ratings. And executives always want a piece of that pie, even if it means compromising their original purpose for their channel. Before they started airing programs like The Real World, MTV was averaging close to half a day’s worth of music videos a day—last year it averaged just three hours. Popular culture is a force that will take down whatever gets in its way, even if that thing is something that was an incredibly revolutionary and innovative channel that was both original and popular at it’s beginning. The ratings came pouring in from these new non-music and reality programming, and the executives never wanted to look back. It was no longer MTV, it was now RTV.

However, artists and some of the public cried out for more programming that was centered on music (For example, when accepting at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards, Justin Timberlake challenged MTV to “play more damn videos!”). As a result nowadays they have added more programming centered on music, but pushed it into the early morning slot—like it was some kind of disease not fit to see the light of day. I mean, from 3-9 AM who actually watches music videos from the past and present along with music updates, interviews, and performances? Not many, and back in it’s heyday this type of programming would have been worshipped by thousands, if not millions, of viewers across TV land. . This is the type of isolation that executives want, showing more reality and less of MTV’s original trademark. The audiences twenty years ago weren’t mindless drones who watched staged “reality” programming because we wished we lived their lives or because of some other fantasy we have today. In the future I believe that we can all say that if we weren’t here we’d be watching not-music on MTV.

Lastly--I'd like to share a video at this point, a very well done video by SuperNews on the tv channel Current. Shortly after it aired on tv and made it's rounds on the internet MTV announced it would be adding more music television. I believe it's an incredibly well-done & funny video and would like to share it:

Filmmakerz: All of Season 1 Online!

Filmmakerz, the show I've been working on with my friends at D Rock Productions, has been put up online for all to watch! If you enjopy shows like the office then you'll love this!

Filmmakerz is a mockumentary about a documentary crew that is sent to film production of the Action/Drama "The Killing Lies". Led by the incompetent rookie Director Sonny Falcon (David Rutter), the whole cast and crew gets sucked into a never ending fiasco of drama, fighting, jealousy, and full blown.......well lets put it this way-no one knows what they are doing!

Also Featuring
Michael Shea as Tucker Smith: Sonny's assistant who despite knowing a lot more than Sonny is constantly berated and humiliated.
David Riley as Jack Miller: The Director of Cinematography, who is more qualified for the job of Director than anyone.
Edwin Cabrera as Noah Rodriguez: A south Boston born actor who thinks its best to have a British accent.
Sean Carritte as Johnny Lucas: The set designer who holds a grudge with Mr. Falcon.

A Summary of this past week (Mon-Sun)

This has been quite an interesting and fun week. So, I figured I'd share it with you all.

MONDAY:
It started off on a pretty high note. The television industry affords me many chances to do things and meet people I never would have thought I would. The point of me saying this is that I helped crew a show (North Shore 100) where two former members of the band rock Boston were on it, Sib Hashian & Barry Goudreau. They and Mike Atunes were on, and are also part of the local band Ernie & The Automatics. I was able to get a picture with them afterwards, as well as get them to sign the cover and cd to Boston's self-titled debut album. It was a great experience.

TUESDAY:
I got invited to go to a Red Sox game with Cassie from work. It was an awesome game. We got there a little late, but regardless it was still a good time and I got quite a few laughs. We were next to THE FUNNIEST drunks, one of which was known only as "The Mayor (of West Palm Beach)" and me and Cassie got interviewed for an MLB documentary that will end up airing in Korea.
Before that, at work, I was given a couple of things to film as cutaway shots for the NS100 show with Sib & Barry, one of the items was a platinum album given to their manager. So I snuck in a pictutre with it....I mean, it's not every day you get to hold one of those things =]

WEDNESDAY:
I finished work on a new opening/ad for the North Shore Navigators games that LynnCAM TV airs live. Hope you enjoy =]

After work I went out with the guys to Bostonville Grill on Rt. 1. The food is good but expensive there.....because of the prices I don't think I'm gonna eat there again, but I love the arcade there. what can I say? I'm 5 :D

THURSDAY & FRIDAY:
Thursday I worked. Both days I hung out with some friends and filmed some stuff for the newest D Rock production, Filmmakerz (episodes 2/3). Episode 1 is on Youtube and 2/3 should be up in the next week. If you're interested then watch Episode 1 by clciking here.

SATURDAY:
Took a Saturday off from work and went to LouStock 2009! Basically it's a begining of the summer party for me and my friends. From 2-10:30ish I just hung out with friends and had a great time. Around 7 we screened the rough cut (95% complete) of Filmmakerz ep. 2/3. It got a great reaction and I'm very pleased with it myself. It was a great time.
We also premiered my second Greenscreen video! Here it is, enjoy =]

Afterwards I was invited to a friend's friend's house and had a good time there until about 1. Got home and went to sleep :)

SUNDAY:
After quite a week I slept in and just took it easy today. Played my Wii all day and just chilled at home. When my dad got home from work I celebrated Father's day with him....his gift was a piece of paper with "I.O.U." written on it. The IOU is a movie and dinner whenevr he wants, courtesy of my credit card.

I haven't had a good week like this in a long time, and it was a geat time. I doubt I'll have another good one like this again, but

My Week-long Trip To Niagra Falls & Indianpolis

My trip will be from Sunday-Saturday. My family is planning on going to Niagara Falls for the night and then going to Indianapolis for the rest of the trip. I decided to blog about my trip and follow the trend of constant updates on myself, thus becoming a "trend whore" (but I refuse to get a Twitter, sorry Dave).

DAY 1:
6:21 PM -- We didn't leave Lynn until about 10 because of troubles with some stuff. We kept finding little things to make fun of along the way, which made it a decent road trip--but then it got pretty boring. I didn't have anything to do at first, because a power inverter I bought didn't work. It was a 7 hour trip from where we live to where we are now. Pretty boring along the way--you can only look at the window at trees and such for so long.

Eventually I edited part of something for a party with my friend from D Rock Productions in June, look for that soon. Now I'm finally at the hotel we got in Niagara Falls, NY--which took forever to find. >_< Free wi-fi and pretty good rooms, I like so far.
In the coming hour we're planning on going to the Hard Rock Cafe then going to Negara Falls. It's supposed to be beautiful at night =]
9:44 PM -- Back from the Falls and Hard Rock--I like that Hard Rock Cafe, it has a car coming out of it. The Falls were amazing, in fact the entire area around it was breathtaking. If you ever get the chance to go and see them all lit up at night, GO! Here's a picture of the Falls....

Now I’m in for the night—tomorrow I’m in the car for quite a ride, and then I’ll meet up with my family and settle in there.
10:12 PM -- Adam found the Bible that every hotel leaves in their desks. He's been reading for a while in the corner.....everyone is getting annoyed. My dad just said "You do realize that you're in the corner reading passages from the bible while nobody is listening, right?".....this is actually funnier than it should be. XD

DAY 2:
8:50 AM -- Leaving the Hotel for Indianapolis. We got a roughly 8 hour trip in front of is now….yippie >_>
12:00 PM -- Just got done with lunch and on the road again. We ran into a HORRIBLE storm, at one point it looked like a tornado could’ve formed O_o
3:30 PM -- The DVD player can’t be found—I wanna watch “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia” and not have to deal with annoying kids in the backseat.
7:30 PM FINALLY got to my cousin’s house after briefly getting lost in downtown Indianapolis. Mapquest SUCKS, I suggest using Google Maps if possible.
Their house is amazing; I say this because it’s completely renovated by them after being bought as crap (in certain places). We’re gonna have dinner and unpack then get some sleep. We don’t know what we’re doing tomorrow yet, Matt isn’t feeling good and it’s not supposed to be that great out.

DAY 3:
9:55 AM -- Just woke up and had breakfast. Matt’s still sick, we decided to go to a place that has an arcade and pizza place and stuff, matt and aunt Debbie will stay here, and my grandma and aunt are going to go to the movies—should be good.
4:00 PM -- Just got back from Xpress, and that place was amazing! $8.50 admission into it got us an all-you-can-eat buffet (which was great). we got a $10 card for $1 and we did mini golfing, bowling, go carting and laser tagging. If they had a place like that in Massachusetts it’d kill, especially in this economy--for a little over $100 we had enough for 3 hours of fun and food for 5 people (or roughly $20 a piece per person). Heading home to chill now.
11:00 PM -- Been watching “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia” & “Rescue Me” when not hanging around with the guys here—both are great. Going to bed now, we’ll be out for most of tomorrow. =]

DAY 4:
4:55 PM -- Woke up and went to the Children’s Museum. Pretty cool actually, and it had a few cool exhibits involving comic books and stuff. The comic book thing had “The Tumbler” used in the latest Batman movies. For a kids museum it was good.
7:30 PM -- Since we got back I’ve been hanging out with the family, had a BBQ and also had a fire (pretty decent one). I also went and returned this power inverter I got for the trip so I could use my laptop in the van, but it didn’t work so I returned it and got a full cash refund. Yay! ^_^ Me and my grandma and cousin keith also went And got a swing set for my little baby cousins, we’ll put it together tomorrow. So now….back to hanging around the house.
10:17 PM -- Most of the family is either getting ready to sleep or watching TV, it’s gotten boring. So now I’m watching Rescue Me (Season 2) and I’m going to fall asleep soon myself, we’re going to the zoo tomorrow to see the rest of my family there =]

DAY 5:
12:00 PM -- Went out to eat at IHOP for breakfast. Matt’s still sick, and we’re trying to figure out when we’re going to the Zoo.
5:00 PM -- The Zoo was awesome. They had a few cool little areas, including one where dolphins swam around you. It was kind of fun, and I ate next to a bunch of lemurs! =]
6:00 PM -- Been hanging around the house since we got back; playing with Jenna and watching “Film School” mainly. Matt’s still sick, so now we’re just gonna stay in since he can’t make it to “Xtreme”, which sucks for him—because he’s been sick almost the entire trip.
11:00 PM -- Just got done watching Aladdin with the kids and finished all of “Film School”, since all the adults went out to drink and play pool, and I’m gonna go to bed now. Tomorrow is my last full day of a real vacation, something I’ve needed for a while now. I feel so much better now that I’ve had some time off. I want to get back to everything and everyone, yet at the same time I don’t. It’s kind of screwy—but it’s my life, and I wanna get back to it.

DAY 6:
12:00 PM -- Just got back from breakfast at a local place called Charlie Brown’s, which was delicious. We’re gonna hang around the house for a little, wait for my cousin to get back from work to take a few family pictures, then we’re back on the road.
6:18 PM -- Went out to eat one last time with everyone at a regional place called “Bob Evans”, and it wasn’t bad. After that we said bye to everyone and went on our way, a full 2 hours behind when we wanted to. Us leaving won’t hit Jenna until tonight probably, which will suck for Seth & Alyssa, since they gotta take care of her =p
But now I’m loading up all the pictures I’ve taken and am looking forward to the 14-hour-straight trek we’re taking from Indianapolis back to Lynn. Joy for me.
10:33 PM -- Stopped at a Wendy’s for a very late dinner. Got wi-fi so I decided to check up on a few things. Still a good half-a-day from getting back home. And the kids behind me are driving me nutty! >_<

DAY 7:
2:00 PM -- FINALLY home after driving all night. Couldn't really sleep, and I feel kind of tired-but not really sleepy.Gonna unpack and such and then I'll probably pass out. Tomorrow I'm back to the monotony that is my life, filming "Filmmakerz" and then back to work.
But I needed this trip......REALLY needed this trip...

Movies Galore!

Anyone that knows me knows that I like to see movies. Well, today I saw 3 and a half.....which is even a little much for me!

At this point you may be asking "and a half?" Well, at work today I finished the second half for Bringing Up Baby, a film from 1938 staring Katharine Hepburn and Cary Grant. Without giving away the plot, I will say that this is a funny movie that I'm glad I watched. It's not like most comedies nowadays-it's a classic. This one posseses a certain charm to it most modern comedies lack. If you can get your hands at it I'd suggest watching it, I'd say it's great for a family night.

After work I went out to the movies to see the new movie Knowing, staring Nicholas Cage. Me, my cousin Cara, and Jason are all in agreement that it wasn't his best movie, but it wasn't bad. Again, I don't wish to give away the plot again--in case you are planning on seeing it--so I'll just say this:it was well-thought out. What they did with the numbers impressed me a bit, and the symbolism is definitly evident at several points. Some things were a little predictable for my taste, but I could deal with it. I also laughed a bit more than I would've expected, I gotta say that the kid is probably my favorite character. =]
All-in-all I think that I got my money's worth.

Same with Watchmen. I'll leave it breif for this movie.....I saw it recently after being excited after seeing the trailers these past few months. I gotta say, aside from the excessive violence I really liked this movie. If you don't like violence I wouldn't suggest seeing it, but if you like to see violence and action and a little bit of thought then I'd say see it. I'll also say that I thought the opening title sequence was probably my favorite part out of the movie. As in knowing, that particular sequence is chock-ful of symbolism and allusions and homages....pay close attention.

To wrap up my movie-watching day.....I just got done watching the entire Back To the Future trilogy. I really love this series and wouldnt watch one like it unless I had access to and time to watch all of them. If you have never done this I suggest doing it.
The people that wrote this series were, in my opinion, brilliant. They had to take into account history and time during 4 periods throughout the series--with several events happening to change history in two of them. Now, after saying this I would like to close out by putting the following piece of trivia from IMDB....it makes ya think a little....

There exist enough clues in all three movies to reconstruct the travels of the DeLorean precisely (to within a few minutes at worst, except 2015 Biff's arrival in 1955 and Doc's personal travels). There are a few interesting things to note: Not counting the time Doc traveled by himself, the DeLorean spent nearly 71 years (on its own time scale) from its first time travel to its destruction. By the time Marty made his ultimate return to 1985, he was approx. 14 days, 3 hours, and 27 minutes older than he should have been; Jennifer, on the other hand, is 7 hours and 26 minutes younger than she should have been. Another interesting conclusion is a point of contention. There are two theories, one of which drops the last item. On November 12, 1955, between the time Biff arrived (or 6 am, whichever came later) and 6:38 pm (the time he left), there were four DeLoreans present in Hill Valley (ordered from its point of view): (1) The instance when Marty was trapped in 1955 in the original movie, (2) the instance when Biff came to 1955 to give himself the almanac, (3) the instance when Marty and Doc came back to 1955 to take the almanac back, and (4) the instance when it was waiting in the abandoned mine. Those who do not agree with (4) argue that according to the "ripple effect" timeline as presented in the films, there wouldn't be a DeLorean hidden by Doc in the mine until later that evening, when the lightning blast would accidentally send Doc back to 1885, thereby altering the timeline. It is *entirely true* that *we* do not ever witness a moment in the films where all four instances coexist, but the text "ordered from its point of view" above should hint at a solution. Once the DeLorean is in 1885, consider what it would detect (if it were in a position to witness the comings and goings of its former selves): over 70 years of peace, then (1) arrives, then (2) and (3) arrive in some order; (2) then leaves at 6:38, (3) leaves around 10 pm, and (1) leaves at 10:04. (4) itself leaves soon after that. If we grant that all three of those instances (1-3) continue to exist in the "final" timeline, then there should be no problem accepting this theory. Still not convinced? Consider the 100-year gap near the end of BTTF III when Marty takes the DeLorean on its final journey. 70 years into it, for a few hours, there are 4 instances of the car.

Let by the incompetent rookie Director Sonny Falcon (David Rutter) the whole cast and crew gets sucked into a never ending fiasco of drama, fighting, jealousy, and full blown.......well lets put it this way no one knows what they are doing.

Michael Shea as Tucker Smith: Sonny's assistant who despite knowing a lot more than Sonny is constantly berated and humiliated.

David Riley as Jack Miller: The Director of Cinematography, who is more qualified for the job of Director than anyone.

Congratulations, President Barrack H. Obama

Before I begin--don't get me wrong, I have respect Barrack Hussein Obama for getting elected President.....however, I do not like him all that much past that (currently).
Now, going on...

Today at 12:05 PM the first black president got sworn into office. Scratch that, the first bi-racial president got sworn into office. Listen America, this is NOT a black president—he is 50% white, and 50% black. I’m getting tired of hearing all of these people saying that this is a “great thing for the blacks”. He’s not just black, he’s also white! When will people get that through their thick skulls?! It’s sad to say, but most of the reason that Obama won is because of his race, and only that. If you voted against him you were labeled racist, and because of that a huge majority of the country didn’t vote against him. Black people around the country didn’t know anything about Obama and still voted for him. One black elementary-school teacher somewhere asked students for who they’d vote for, when one of them said McCain she said (basically) “Oh hell no, why would you do that. Nuh-uh!” The other problem is that many of the people out there actually believe, believe that Obama is the messiah. He doesn’t belong in the same breath as The Messiah AT ALL; he hasn’t saved anyone and doesn’t believe in the same things as Him. The people that believe that really need to be slapped in the head so that they think right again.

One thing that’s bothered me is the entire Inauguration thing. Four years ago Bush’s $47 million Inauguration got criticism, but now that Obama’s in he can throw one for $160 million no problem—IN AN ECONOMIC CRISIS! The money paying for this is all being donated, I can get that. However, he shouldn’t be using ALL that money for an Inauguration. He should put forth some of that money to help solve this economic crisis. He’s using the equivalent of half the bailout money for essentially a huge party, which is completely unneeded. Want to initiate change right away? Be the first president (to my knowledge at least) to donate his inauguration money for the benefit of the nation and world. Also, I don’t get how some of these people donated what they did. Look at the list of donors, it seems fishy to me—I mean, how can an unemployed person donate $50,000?

His policies and views have since flip-flopped since getting elected. He has said now that he can’t set timetables for solider removal, can’t close Guantanamo Bay, is now in support of the stimulus packages, is defending the wire tapping programs. That’s just a short list of things. Some of his ideas are also pretty dumb and flawed. His tax things will affect those who make more than $40K a year, which is considered middle-class—when was the last time that was considered middle-class? Obama also had an idea before, which he hopes to pass, which would consist of mandatory 48-hour-a-week community service by anyone in school—no questions asked. This would cause so many problems, especially with those college students and those with jobs. Before you ask for proof of my allegations I can’t easily find them at the time—but I heard all of them on the radio, and that guy cited them all (and I did check them all and found them to be true).

Frankly, I believe that it’ll be too late when most of the country realizes what a bad decision electing this guy was. He’s like John Kerry with charisma with the flip-flopping. He’s like Caroline Kennedy getting into senate just by name, only with him it’s by looks. To many people are following him soley because he’s a democrat, solely because he knows how to give a speech (it’s true, he’s great at that), solely because he’s black. People need to look past those things—and really use their heads. I know quite a few people like that, mostly my family, that see past race and political parties to see the truth. You can label me as a racist, you can tell me that I’m wrong. However, I’m protected by the first amendment—and I’m not racist. I have no problem with any person of any race, unless they do unspeakable or illegal things. Those are my views as of right now. His speeches are full of hope and determination for change, but that’s all they are—speeches, words. I’ll be in support of him if he comes through with all the promises he’s spewing from his mouth. Not going against stuff now that he’s in office, not making promises he knows he can’t keep (which is already the case)—just change. And not just the change that we want, the change we need.
Then, and only then, will I consider joining with the masses saying “Oh Messiah, lead us to the promises land”

Hmm, anyone else find it funny the world is supposed to end in 2012?

PS: If I did get anything wrong then point it out to me and I will humbly accept that I was wrong. I'm not an unreasonable person, and accept when I'm wrong. And if anyone can cite the stuff I mentioned easily then please, share the links or whatnot. This was kind of a 5 minute thing i did, and that's all I'm treating it as--I'm not exactly a huge politcial person.
PPS: Does anyone else think there's a hidden meaning behind Comedy Central's special tonight, entitled Rebirth of A Nation"?

Year-End School Posting, Chock-full Of Poems & Videos & Rambling

So,another semester in the rearview mirror. I can't say I'm happy or sad for it to me done,cause i'm both. It was kind fo stressful at times and a few of my teachers could've taught a tad bit better, and in that sense I'm happy I don;'t gotta deal with it anymore. However, I had a lot of fun in these classes and I liked quite a few people in those classes--so I'm sad in that respect. I am happy for one other reason, I got all A's in my classes, and one B. ^_^

I hope that my classes next semester are as fun and good-but I dunno. These are the classes I'm taking next semester (three on thursday, and one on friday and monday): Fund. of Script. & Storyboarding, Advanced College Algebra/Trig., The First Amendment, Digital Post Effects, Literature & Film.
Hopefully they're fun, I think at least Digital Post effects will be. =D

So then,I haven't shared any work I've done this year. So.....here are the 5 poems I wrote this year in my creative writting class, and two videos I did.

The Disgruntled Postman

The sun rises to a new day
Right over the bay.
Bob wakes up and gets ready, full of resentment
For his job which pays the rent.

Every day he's on his route-
He has no time to play his flute.
His dream was shattered and broken
Although much of it he has not spoken.

Through rain or sleet or snow or hail
He must always deliver the mail.
At an office he doesn't stay,
This postman does this every day.

Every day he does the rounds,
Trying to avoid all of the hounds.
The days are long and tiring
And he is forever perspiring.

At the end of his day he goes home to rest.
Slips out of his uniform, and into his vest.
He plays with his kids and spouse,
He hopes through this his fire can be doused.

He dislikes his job, it stole his dream!
And he won't regain it, it does seem.
But he goes to sleep, and dreads the next day
when the sun rises over the bay.

That cat is blocking my view again!
I can’t see the small television at all

My nose wants to die from the stripe’s stench.

Also in darkness stands a hero in blue and black.
Upper face concealed, lower face not,
He’s a friendly guy, with a smile and hug,
But he’s not a friend to street thugs.

A lone woman is speeding along in her vehicle,
Her yellow wheels propelled the green car forward.
The destination of the vehicle is unknown,
The purpose of her flight is the same.

In the distance is a volcano spitting out
Hotness and smoke black as night, both filling
Up the air around the place it calls home.
It illuminates and darkens at the same time.

There is fear in the air, another one was shot

What this city has seen recently.

Red and blue are at war with one another.
The blood of both the innocent and guilty
Spilling into one big puddle of dark red,
Without a reason.

As I walk out of the building, I look all around
Me carefully, cautious of my surroundings in
This time of turmoil in my own backyard.

I’m stopped by a crazy-looking guy who asks me for
change. I look at him very cautiously before telling him
I don’t have any. He seems to be able to sense
My fear and distrust. He turns to me and says

A Magical Night At Fenway

"What's up junior?"
"What are you doing at 8:30 tonight?"
"Nothing right now,why?"
"Well.....we're going to the Red Sox game"

That's the conversation I had with my dad on monday. During my break at school I was wandering near Fenway Park and noticed that the ticket office was open. I decided to go in and see if there were tickets left for game 4 of the ALDS against the LA Angels.
Well, they had seats in Conigliaro's Corner for $35--I got them instantly and called my dad. I told him that was his birthday gift and to meet me at Kenmore Square.

In Kenmore you could feel excitment in the air. One look and listen around Kenmore and Yawkey Way & you knew it was playoff baseballl. I missed the feeling, I haven't felt that excited about a baseball game in a year (although in that one there was a sad ending...), and this game was definitly worth it. I won't go into full detail but I'll say that it had everything I've wanted to see in a game in person for the longest time. It had the excitment of playoff ball, a heightened level of play, and fans that were friendly and joined as one voice at many ocasions

As a guy that can't stand watching baseball at home this was an awesome opportunity and I'd love to be able to do it again. I'd love to go to an ALCS game or WS game,but that probably won't happen. I will say this about the ALCS though--the Sox have a challenge. The Devil Rays are an incredibly good team, and they have to be to compete in this division. I hpe the Sox will win but I can't easily adn confidently say this: An AL East team will go to and win the World Series this year.

The Red Sox today FINALLY announced something big today......the retiring of Sox legend Johnny Pesky's #6 this Friday.

For years Pesky,who married a girl from Lynn and lives in the area, has been a fixture at Fenway. He's been involved deeply wiht the organization for over 60 years, earning him the nickname "Mr. Red Sox". His dedication and strive to make the organization better throught knowledge and helping with community projects and scouting is beyoind what most players have done for any team they once played for. If anyone deserves to have their number retired in baseball that hasn't had it done already it's Pesky.

His number would have been retired earlier, but the Red Sox are strict about whose numbers they retire. The Red Sox site says the following about this:

The Red Sox policy on retiring uniform numbers is based on the following criteria:
• Election to the National Baseball Hall of Fame
• At least 10 years played with the Red Sox

It's unclear at the time what made them,after such a long time,drop the requirements needed. He isn't in the HOF and played only 7.5 years with the BoSox,so that is why he wasn't able to get in before. The question remains as to why they allowed this (finally).....but nobody cares.
Mr Pesky's number is finally where it belongs....

EDIT: Ceremony got pushed to Sunday due to rain......and it was a great one. He was very,very modest about it all, and Sox great Carlton Fisk unvieled his number--which now rests next to some of the greatest to put on a Red Sox (and even baseball in general) uniform.

Three years ago someone very special to me, my 4 year old brother, Dante got diagnosed with diabetes type 1. I remember the day so well as if it was yesterday because that was the day I opened my eyes and realized how important life is and how little I realized that this disease affected millions of growing children everywhere.

IN OTHER NEWS.....I'm back at school as of this past week.
What a first week-this is how it went... >_>
MONDAY: History of Mass Communication & World Mythology. Both of these seem alright, and the teachers are good. the first one is just a tiny bit boring, the other really isn't. These two classes seem to be good. And i have a break from 12-4 between these classes. That time I'll spend in Boston doing stuff most likely. Tomorrow I plan on seeing "Burn After Reading" during my break.
TUESDAY/THURSDAY: Work all day. I usualy like work--so this should work out fine--and we're getting two new interns I liked from shop back at Tech =D
WEDNESDAY: Internet Technologies THEN work. This class seems like it'll be both fun and educational with a great teacher--good combo =] Right after that class I ahve to get to work by 1/1:30ish-so i gotta book it =p
FRIDAY: Writting for the visual media & Creative Writting. Omg.....kill me. These classes,while they seem liek they'll be partly fun and taught by great people, will be the end of me. I will be doing more writting for these classes then I did my last year of high school Y_Y This will be time consuming and I won't liek it....espeically considering all the scripots i have to write will need to be in a silent film format! >_< I think i'll like creative writting out of those two though.....I just got done writting a poem about a postman in it XD

But yeah.....hoepefully I'll be able to adjust to this schedule of things for both school and work and get everything done. It doesn't help I have other things on my mind--but hopefully I'll pull through.Although I won;t have much of a social life....wich will suck. Oh well,tis the life of an aspiring artist.

Squad Room Antics: ONLINE!!!

The long-awaited movie me and my friends had been working on during the winter/spring is finally completly done and going online in parts!
It was half a year in the making....and by far the best movie we've done to date. It's my friend Dave's brainchild.....I must give him credit for coming up with and finding the resources to do stuff liek this. He set up a website-- www.d-rockproductions.com--check it out. It's got loads of stuff up there.

As for the movie,here's a general overview......it's basically a movie about a group of cops in the Anti-Crime unit in Sin City. They're on the trail of the drug kingpin known as "Ed Diablo". Throughout the course of the movie many events unfold that lead to the capture of Ed Diablo--& what happens next might not be what you expect....
Just a sidenote......THERE IS A SIGNIFICANT USE OF PROFANITY IN IT,DRUG USE,AND SOME HINTS AT SEX
So it's not really for the "younger audience".
HOWEVER,if you don't mind that stuff,it's a great movie. The plot is very good & well-thought out.

this is my music video for the Coldplay song "Life In Technicolor" off their new album "Viva La Vida Or Death & All His Friends".

I got the idea one day while sitting at Flax Pond listening to it....and took the name litterally. The effect used is called the "Pleasantville Effect",and it's as good as I can do it currently. If I can do it better in the future I may redo this...And oh yeah....I wanted to see if I could do this in under a day-I got it done in like 6 hours (would've spent more time on it but I think I got it good). =]
ENJOY! ^_^

ALSO: Tonight is the first night of the playoffs for the Navigators. They take on Keene in a best of 3 series....and there's rain on the way ='[ Let's hope they can do something today.....watch the game on LynnCAM if you can't make it down to the field =]

Manny To LA.....thoughts?

Me,my friend Eric,and my family went up to Nashua for a game tonight. It was against Brockton and went into the 10th inning. Old friend Jamie Baker came in for Brockton for a couple of innings and held the Pride down....but they eventually played fundamental baseball and won the game on a walkoff single. It was fun up there,and me and Eric both enjoyed ourselves--I'd like to try to go to one more Can-Am game this summer before the season ends. That'd be awesome. =]

Now......for some good discussion: What does everyone think of the Manny Ramirez trade?
Keep in mind that the Red Sox acquired outfielder Jason Bay from the Pirates and sent Manny to the Dodgers and outfielder Brandon Moss and RHP Craig Hansen to the Pirates in a three-team deal. While I think we should've got more then a decent outfielder out of all we gave up.......I'm pretty content with the trade.
It was evident he didn't want to play here the past few weeks and the mood in the clubhouse was definitly affected--and if the clubhouse is in a funk sometimes it carries over onto the field of play (wednesday night anyone?). Bay is a pretty good outfielder, and he is a decent hitter. He won't make up for Manny's bat in the order and won't make others fear him as bad-but at least he getds on base. At .282 Bay's hitting better then like half of the Sox,and has 64 RBI-making him 2nd on the team in that category. So he's a pretty good hitter,but like I said can't make up for what Manny brought.
Don't get me wrong,I love Manny. If it wasn't for him we wouldn't have those trophys.......but now he was just another distraction the team didn't need,and it festered. I appreciate what he did and am happy he'll eventually go intot he hall of fame (anyone wanna disagree?) but this deal is good not only for the team,but for him too.

So when it's all said and done I'm happy we got the trade done and think Bay will do pretty good. So what do you guys think?

That line best sums up the character of The Joker--THE star in the latest Batman movie,"The Dark Knight". He is cynical,ruthless,meticuless,sadistic,"funny".......and smart. It's been said by some critics that Heath Ledger deserves to win a posthumous Academy Award for his role-and I agree. Ledger's joker not only stole the show,but brought the character to the way he should've always been--a ruthless,mass-murdering pycopath who tries to think out everything before unleashing his plan. You see Jack Nicholson's performance from '89 and expect a funny yet evil joker,but Ledger reinvents it & makes it the show-stopper we see. I honestly don't even think Heath was in the picture at all. I say that because it seems like Ledger engulfed himself in the role to the point where he WAS the joker.

I'll be honest,I didn't see the first film.....but I don't think you REALLY need to see it. The characters all seem to develop throughout the movie anyway if they weren't already established in the first one. And the Joker basically forces everyone to change,he's the glue that holds this film together. He affects all the major characters....Rachel Dawes,Bruce/Batman,Gordon,Dent.....all in a negative way and a few in a slightly positive way. This movie proves that the American public can enjoy a film that's intelligent and well-thought-out with a great plot. They do a great The only complaint I have at all is Batman's voice-which seems to get annoying at times.

This is by far the best movie I've seen all year. If you haven't seen it yet--then drop what you're doign and go see it now. I promise-it's worth the price of admission,times two.

PS:I'm not great at movie reviews....so hope this short thing didn't suck. Besides-I'd have to see a mvoie at least 2 times to write a decent one. =]

"Gamble: [to The Joker] Give me one reason why I shouldn't have my boy here rip your head off.

So I went to this thing called Steubenville East this weekend. There are all sorts of bands and enlightening talks and so many other teens..it's just amazing!
The experiences I had were wonderful.........I laughed,I cried--I got completly and utterly drenched. Twas awesome!! If you're a high schooler and a Catholic/Christian then I'd suggest looking into going next year =]

What I've Been Waiting For In Music/Movies....

The headline says it all....this is about the music and movies I've been waiting for. They have all come out within a month or so of each other. So then,let's go on.
MUSIC: I'm not HUGE into music,but when I heard the two singles that Coldplay released in late May (Viva La Vida & Violet Hill) I instantly wnated to hear their new album--"Viva La Vida Or Death & All His Friends"

This album,their fourth,is a far cry from their last album "X&Y". The style of msuic seems to be different on almost every track,whereas X&Y seemed to have some common style throughout. This album may be quite different from what Coldplay fans are used to,but this album is a great one. They put a lot of work into this cd......making 10 tracks plus two bonus ones. HOWEVER, three of the regular songs have two parts-yet only one is listed as this. SO,the listener is thrown for a curve. In the end,the entire album runs for 53.5 minutes. I personally would recomend it for any fan of hard soft rock (if that makes any sense) or alternative rock. Their great music definitly reflects on the 32.5 million albums they have sold since they started in 1997. My favorite tracks as of right now are "Viva La Vida" (in terms of instrumentals and lyrics),"Lost" & "Yes" (both in terms of instrumentals mainly).

Now onto my real love....
MOVIES: Like basically everyone else,I can't wait for The Dark Knight to come out! early reviews have compared this movie to Godfather 2 and have said that Heath Ledger deserves an Oscar....hands down. I'm going to try to go to the movies the day of and see this movie. I'd go see it at the midnight release....but I like sleep more....
I also wish to go see the new Brendan Fraiser movie "Journey To The Center Of The Earth" on the 11th. I SHOULD be goign to see that at the Imax sometime next week. NOW,as for movies I have seen in the past couple months....

Indiana Jones 4: GREAT MOVIE! I had been looking forward to it since I first heard about it in Decemeber. If you liked the original 3 movies I'd suggest seeing this movie. There is action the entire time,which I LOVED. And they do a greta job with the plot of the crystal skulls. I don't wanna reveal to much,but I wasn't quite expecting what they pulled outta their hat.....oh,and you get to see the Ark of the Covenant =] Best movie I've seen thus far this year. Others may not agree with me saying this....but I hope they make one more. They could do so much with this frnachise still,and especially now with the doors they opened.

Iron Man: What can I say about thsi one? Not a HUGE fan of comic book movies like others aroudn me.....but I absolutly loved this one. It was funny,action-packed,and had a pretty decent plot going on. Not sure how close to the comics they followed since I...you know...didn't read them,but it was good. I'm looking forward to the sequel.

Narnia 2: good movie. I liekd it better then the first one....probably more because this one had a more mature,dark tone to it. Still pretty funny.

The Incredible Hulk: Once again,not a huge fan of the comic book movies like other....but liked this one. Had soem humor,plenty of action eventually,good plot,etc.... One thing I like about the Marvel studios is that they are interwinding characters from the different comic books like they did in the comics to create a better continuim (sp?)-as Tony Stark (AKA Iron Man) made a cameo.

Get Smart: I loved this movie. It's my kind of movie.....a comedy movie that involves spies/high-end tech. The plot was good,the humor was great,and Steve Carrell was awesome in this movie. I hope they make another one of these movies....cause I'd go see it in a heartbeat. My 3rd fav movie so far.

Hancock: Saw this while waiting for the fireworks in Boston. This was a great movie,hands down. My second fav so far. This movie had me laughing almost the entire time. The plot was incredible,and even the marketing department did a GREAT job of not giving away the plot too much. I myself was VERY shcoked in it,and it still entertained me a great deal. This movie proves why Will Smith is one of the better actors around...he can play a serious and funny role very well,even in the same movie.

ALL-IN-ALL....if you had to see any movies I'd say if you haven't yet seen Hancock,Indy 4,and Iron Man you should drop what you're doing right now and see those.

that's interesting. As for me it's been pretty hectic lately.
WORK: We've been doing a lot lately down at LynnCAM. The games we've been covering have been getting better and better....but it's still tiring to do every single home game. If you can get it, we go out live to Lynn,Salem, & Swampscott & go out on tape to about 16 different cities on the North Shore. We're also busy at the station with all our members and shows we do.......and we want to get more members in. I've been saying this for a while.....community access stations are a great relativly-untaped resource. For $60 you can become a member and be able to check out equipment (after taking a class). Then you can go out and create stuff that you can then put on tv or YouTube. For anyone interested in video,we're a great place to start out. If you or anyone you know may be interested you should check out our website.

SCHOOL: Ok.....I kind of dislike my school right now. On Friday I got a notice telling me that today (and today is basically done) through Thursday is advising/clearance week for me and then next week is registration. Before i can even meet my advisor,since i took the summer off,I gotta talk to someone who isn't even back at her office until tomorrow. Uhm,excuse my language....but what the fuck?! This is not good planning on their part at all. They need to give everyone more then 3 days' notice!! You need at least one and a half to two weeks notice for somethign like this....especially those who live farther away. I'm going to complain to them,hopefully they can change this so it doesn't happen again in the future......but then again I think there's a better chance of the MBTA getting me on time to class and home every day in the Fall. Oh well.....I do hope to take some editing classes this year if i can though =D

PERSONAL LIFE: Eww.....not the best. Don't wana delve into details....but almost every aspect of it could be a helluva lot better. Especially in the relationship department,in which I've basically given up all hope. But I'm just so happy to have the best friends I could ask for (at least the ones I keep in constant contact with) and the best few memberds of my family that don't suck. I would like to do more things are well....like go to movies,hang out somewhere other then home,etc. I wanna go see like 50 movies this summer. The new Batman movie,Hancock,Hellboy 2...those are a few. Get Smart,Ironman, and Indiana Jones 4 were the better ones I've seen in the past couple months. I wish to see more good movies in the coming months.
But yeah.....That's basically it

OH.....and if you like the Colbert Report & The Cookie Monster,watch this. It's hillarious XD

Thumbs Up For The City/LPD

I must say,it's long overdue.....but I must applaud the city police for the 84 ARRESTS they made from Thursday-Sunday! HOWEVER this made me think...

"The action was in response to last week's explosion of violence, which left seven people shot - one fatally - and an eighth person stabbed in separate incidents.
"We more than doubled the number of officers on the street all four of the nights," Police Chief John Suslak said. "It makes a world of difference."'

This is great! If we can get all that done in one weekend then maybe we can get more done. Figures though,it'd take a guy getting shot in the head near the police station for them to step up stuff after everything that's happened lately (body in a pond,last weekend's other violence,etc)
That was a great moveby the city to get funds for to the police depatment....

"A financial transfer of $50,000 from a city account to the police department to put a greater police presence on the streets of the city was made official Tuesday.
Police chief John Suslak said the money would be used to put five officers on the streets from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m., seven days a week starting Thursday."

That was from the paper last week.....and it was a great move,as these extra officers should help a lot. Even though that means the city basically has no money until the new fiscal year begins July 1-it's a great investment in my opinion

I opened it to the page and my jaw droped--the article was huge,and se was my picture. I thought two things....1) MY GOD! The picture is almost as big as the aticle. and 2) @#%^! The article is HUGE. LYNN - Anyone who followed the playoff run of the North Shore Spirit last summer on Lynn CAM Access TV would recognize the work of David Riley. The 19-year-old camera operator and editor produced the commercials for Lynn’s former professional baseball squad, splicing game footage with music to promote the Independent League team as it concluded its final season at Fraser Field with a trip to the championship series. Now, as he prepares to begin working with Lynn’s newest team, the North Shore Navigators, Riley can head to the park with new confidence as a Bronze Medal winner in the sports editing category at the 29th Annual Telly Awards.

Riley received the award this month for his work on a commercial during the Spirit’s playoff series, bringing home one of the top honors in local television production to Lynn. “The piece was about a minute long, I took footage from two teams, I think it was the Spirit versus the Nashua Pride,” he said. “I just set it to some music that I felt was pretty good. I produced commercials for them in June, July and August, but I am a huge baseball fan so I also followed the team. I was there every day when they were at the park.”

Riley, along with Lynn CAM Executive Director Ken Kinna submitted the commercial to the Telly Awards in the hopes of bringing some notoriety to the station. Every year the award judges view over 14,000 entries from local television stations across the country. Scored on a scale from one to 10, there is no limit on the amount of winners, as the awards are given based on the overall quality of the piece. A 7.0- 8.9 score is good enough for a bronze medal, which Riley won, and anything higher is considered a silver medal. Silver medal winners are invited back the following year to become judges. Former winners and TV/media professionals do all of the judging.

“We try to enter as much work as we can in different contests — it is one of those things you try to do to get some notoriety,” said Kinna. “I am very happy and proud to see our boy here win the award. We want to give people the feeling that the TV station here is a place where people can collaborate and work.” The rules of the Telly Awards prohibit major networks, such as ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX from entering, but each year the contest features entries from other cable networks worldwide, making the honor equal to winning an Oscar or Emmy Award for cable TV production.

“It is a world wide competition, I think they get something like 14,000 entries every year from all 50 states and all over the world,” said Riley. “Anyone can enter, it is a really well recognized award. I was a little surprised (to win), I thought, ‘Wow, I am in the same crowd with the Discovery Channel, there is no way.’ When I got the letter I was just like ‘Yay.’” Riley is a Lynn resident, living off of Boston Street for all of his 19 years. A graduate of Lynn Vocational and Technical Institute’s TV/media program, he is now taking courses in visual film and TV production at the New England Institute of Art. Riley came to Lynn CAM in October 2006 as an intern, and eventually combined the job with his interest in baseball, following the Spirit and helping with broadcasts and commercials.

He also plans on working with the North Shore Navigators this year, as Lynn CAM will be televising all of the team’s games. On the side, Riley and his friends are using the Lynn CAM studio to film a movie called “Squad Room Antics,” which they hope to show on LynnCAM in a few months. “I want to keep doing stuff like this,” said Riley. “I really love the camera work and editing.”

Spirit Ad Wins Award!

A couple months back I asked for people's opinions on what to send into the Telly Awards, a distinguished video/film contest with over 14,000 entries a year.
Well........I DID IT! =D
I sent in the North Shore Spirit Championship Ad I made for LynnCAM in the "Commercial Sports" category,and took home a bronze Telly in that category. In order to qualify for the Bronze I had to recieve a rating off a 10-point system from a panel of judges that measures between 7.0-8.9. A Silver award would warrent a rating of 9.0 or higher.

So yeah.....I'm pretty excited that I won this thing-and I'm gonna opt to get the statuette & cetificate. Thought I'd share.....and for those of you wondering exactly which ad it was,here it is again:

This City Disgusts Me....

Last Weekend of April: Gang members shot at each other......while kids were sleeping inside! Four were arrested
May 2nd: Four people wee stabbed at a party thrown after a prom was cancelled.
May 7th: A body was pulled from Flax Pond. Unconfirmed reports say he was shot in the head,other details unknown.
May 9th: A shooting between the Bloods & Crips at Classical left the area in fear and the school in a lockdown.

Pardon my French....BUT WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THIS CITY?! This city has gone down the drain in the past few years,and the only people to blame are the youth of this city & a lot of the other citizens that reside here. Those above stories are nothing but a small blip on a radar that has thousands of blips day in and day out. A LOT of this stuff isn't put into ink and made public--but everyone in this city knows that they happen,way more then is even published in the police reports section of the paper. This stuff HAS to stop. One thing that makes my skin crawl is that people just sit back and complain about the city being bad and do nothing about it. They complain the police aren't doing their job, they complain it's a bad place to live, they complain and bitch and moan. Well........DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! My God.....these problems won't go away if we do nothing. One thing you can do is tell the police if you were a witness.....but no,they're too chicken!

If you know more then others,come forward you cowards! You're all pathetic. People that witness crimes and don't say anything are spineless cowards. It's people like you that help the crime in this city spread! Without any knowledge,what can the police do to at least try harder to keep the city safer? None of this "Oh,I'm scared they'll fid out and come after me" crap.....that's why you tell them you wanna be kept anonymous if they ask for a name! This part goes out to the kids in this city (aged....I dunno,10-21).....WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR DAMN PROBLEMS?!?!?!?!? Who in the world are you trying to impress by doing drugs, drinking at parties, joining gangs....and trying to kill others?! You people make me sick and are the lowest form of scum on this planet. What does stuff like that do,what does it solve? You know what it leads to......more bloodshed and death!!! How many fatalities will it take for you all to realize it don't solve shit?! Why do you do this day in and day out? Shootings and stabbings dominate the front page because of stupid little quarrels. You could be doing so much more with your lives.....some of you could be doctors and lawyers and carpenters--but no,they'll take a 45 mm gun over a place to better humanity any day.

I've heard that people are in gangs and stuff because that's what they grew up around.....so? You can be the ones to change it all? You can be the ones that endure it all, and come up on top and lead successful and meaningful lives.....lives without drugs and violence. Gangs do not do anything to better anyone,and the fact tat people think they do and think they're their only real "family" and/o fiends is sad and pathetic. I have plenty of friends that are like family and my family,bad at times as they may be,are still great. It's not our fault that you have a bad group of people around you......that's why people go to places like "Club America" and the "Boys & Girls Club" & "Girls Inc." and "Raw Arts". There's no end of places kids can go to have good fun with others that you can easily get along with. Look at yourself in the mirror.......do you really see a kid that will be successful? That will be useful? That will be happy?

In a city that can be soooooo good and has much potential to be great,a veil of violence has left the city with such a ad image that a lot of people don't wanna pass through here, much less live here. People hear Lynn and that damn motto comes up: "Lynn,Lynn,City of Sin".....and ya know what,it still stands. No matter how much good we try to bring to this city,the idiots with the guns and in the gangs (for no REAL reason) will still stand out more. You wanna know who'd to blame in the end? Us,because we're so used to this now that we shrug it off,accept it....live with it. If the saying is true and these kids are the building blocks of tomorrow--then our future is screwed.

Wake up Lynn,it's time for a change--or we may see more of this:

Red Sox Win In A Rainy Showdown In The Fens

"It's going....it's going...IT'S GONE!!!!" were the words uttered from my mouth around 11:15 last night,if I had to guess.

A rain delay had kept the game in a rain delay lasting 2 and a half hours(7:05-9:32),and here we were-in the 4th inning of a game at Historic Fenway Park in a game between the Red Sox and Devil Rays of Tampa Bay. Brandon Moss jumpstarted a Sox offense in the 4th inning that delivered hit,after hit,after hit. By the time the 4th was done,the score was 6-0 Red Sox-and the score didn't change much the rest of the night as the Sox ended up winning the game by a score of 7-3.

I was able to enjoy the game with a group of people that have become my second family,my youth group at Sacred Heart Parish. It was fun sitting in the rain for,essentially,4 hours waiting for the game and then watching it with them and the good times that were in there (even if there was a gray cloud hanging over it all). I had a great time in my pink poncho (the only color available,and I didn't care,it looked cool =]) and sitting with our group of 20-something. The entire night was full of fun,jokes,and rain......call me crazy,but I love it when games go into rain delays,cause in the stands that's when the REAL fun happens. I kept having fun times with Abbie and Cathrine and Mike and the people sitting near me. Mike ad to have a few of the best lines of the night though....

"If you do that again,I will elbow you in the face"--I was cheering loudly,and it was funny cause of the randomness of it.
"That was me,I'm molting"--After Abbie found a feather on my jacket and shared that fact.

They are a great bunch of people and I'm glad to have known them......it was like the good old times with the Fraser Faithful--as I was with great friends,had a great time,and I had a hard time breathing thanks to te laughter. It was cool to score the game again,and I'm glad I did. I must say too,for the most part,this was a very knowledgable bunch of people....as most of them knew what i was talkign about and knew their stuff. I loved one of the youth group leader's (Skip's) reaction to that....who basicaly said "You're actually scoring the game??" and chuckled a little. Overall,even though we were there WAY longer than expected,I'd have to say tha was an awesome game.

Back to the game though......The Sox offense was awesome,and they provided the dedicated crowd on hand with a 5-run 4th. But before that inning they got on the board with an rbi-double in the 3rd from Julio Lugo (who got on base the most last night-besides Dustin Pedroia). The 4th inning looked like a routine 1-2-3 inning,as "Iron" Mike Lowell struck out,and was followed by a line out to short by Youk......then up came Brandon Moss,who blasted a ball to the triangle for a homer to make it 2-0 Sox. Varitek singled and was followed by a walk by Lugo.Jacoby Elsbury came up and got an rbi-single to make it 3-0 Sox and then stole second to put runers in scoring position,all still with 2 outs. Pedroia came up and blasted a 2-run double to left and was followed up by an Ortiz rbi-single before Manny came up and struck out. But the damage was done as the Sox lead 6-0 by the start of the 5th and scored again in the 8th with an rbi-double from captain Jason Varitek.

The defense wasn't bad either. Clay Buchholz started the game,and it looked like the delay got to him at first. In the first and second innings Clay gave up a couple of long,wel-hit fly balls,a single and a few walks. After that he calmed down and was awesome. Brandon Moss helped Clay in the 2nd,with an inning-ending fielder's choice--throwing the ball from about 3/4 of te way into right field and hitting V-Tek dead-center at home for an amazing foce out at the plate. Buchholz went until the 6th inning, striking out 6,walking 4,while giving up 4 walks and 1 run. From there on out the bullpen did a great job of keeping one of the most-improved teams in baseball in check. Javier Lopez,Manny Delcarmen,and Okajima all comibined in the 6,7,and 8th inings to allow only 2 hits and 2 runs (one un-earned on a throwing error by Lugo).....and then let Paps in to close out the game for the save-at 1:16 AM.

With that win the Sox are currently the Top Dogs in the AL East,but for how long? With the Yankees ever-present in the division and the other teams in the AL East getting better,how long before this division will become a 3 or even 4 team race? Hopefully the Sox can keep this up,but the Rays are a great team-and this division is starting to become a tough and compettitive division.
Tonight it's Josh Beckett up against James Shields,the "marquee matchup of the weekend". The game just started and the Rays were retired 1-2-3.....good luck Sox! Let's show them why your the defending World Series Champs!

That was pretty cool.....I remember in 04 when the trophy came to lynn,twice....and being there both times. It was pretty cool. I also saw the Navigator's new mascot today,which is an alligator. why an alligator? I have no clue,I thought they'd do a pirate or some other type of stereotypical sea fearing person.....

And to end this all I must add that this Friday I am going to the Red Sox game with my youth group! Rich scored tickets for the "Dunkin' Dugout"-so look for me and the group under the dunkin sign. I'm gonna try to take pictures and score the game. Hopefully I'll be able to write a post after the game,just like old times.

What's the Big Deal About Finals Week?

This past week I found myself asking that very question. It seems,to me,that the week of finals isn't as bad as everyone at my school said it would be. I was stressed at first because I thought I wouldn't be getting my stuff done (projects,papers,etc),but I easily got them all done and have but one final project left for my lighting class. It seems like this "monster" turned out to be just a puppy for me. For others it may be a different case, but for me it's that. I am now relatively calm,and the only thing that's really on my mind now is the other factors in life.

Out of the 5 classes I have,only 2 were challenging at all,and it's mainly because they are group finals that must be organized so everyone can be there. In Psychology I had a paper and a video PSA (which will be included below). In History of the Moving Image I had a 5 page final n the genre of sci-fi films,which wasn't extremely hard but just time-consuming. In my math class I have only my final,thank God. Now here are the more difficult ones......In audio I had to do a 10-15 min. news show that incorporated different audio elements we learned throughout the second half of the semester. It wasn't REALLY tough,but it was just hard finding a day that worked for everyone then getting it done in the time-frame we had. For lighting I have to do a project that incorporates 10 elements we learned the entire semester. It seems easy enough,and I'll team up yet again with my partner Mike to do this.....but I won't do that until Monday (then edit it before 4pm the next day--oh joy).

So yeah,i guess finals aren't as bad as I thought they'd be......and I must say,I am enjoying college thus far.

Beanpot Reutrns To Lynn/Navs Monument Unveiling

The North Shore Navigators announced today that between the two Baseball Beanpot semi-final games being held at Fraser Field in Lynn, Massachusetts the Navigators of the New England Collegiate Baseball League, will be unveiling their new Monument sign Wednesday April 9, 2008. at approximately 5:15 pm

The Beanpot features BC vs. Northeastern at 3pm and Harvard vs. UMass at 7pm. Come meet Phil Rosenfield, President of the Navigators and one of the Navs newest players BC right handed pitcher and 1st baseman Chris Kowalski. The public is invited to attend.

Directions to Fraser Field as well as more information about the North Shore Navigators can found at the Navs web site www.nsnavs.com. The Navigators Open their 2008 Season at Fraser Field starting on June 7 at 7 PM vs. the Vermont Mountaineers.

I'd encourage everyone to go to it that can. the beanpot is a great tournamnet.....I just wish I'd had more knowledge about it. I've gone the past few years,this is both a great baseball tournament with great ball played and an excellent opportunity to see what level of play the Navigators could bring to Fraser this summer (seeing as they are a college team).
I'll more than likely be there,as I should be assigned to film the monument unvieling. One question remains on ym mind though.....what'll happen to the previous monument,the one the Spirit left...?

SO............long time,no actual post. Figured I'd update everyone (that's right,all 3 of you) on me.
School's been going great. College is a little bit easier than I thought,but it's still tough. Almost every week this semester I have had a paper and two projects to do,as well as watching one movie that is sometimes hard to find. Other then the stress that sometimes happpens,it's great & I love college thus far.
As for work,it's been great. I love being able to work at LynnCAM. It may be busy and hectic at times,but it's great. And if you guys have any ideas for shows or whatever,let me know =]

Over 17,000 objects comprise the Museum’s extensive artifact collection, including works of art, tools, furniture, clothing and textiles, and toys. Now the Museum invites the community to share its collections as part of "What We Keep: A Community of Collections." The opening reception for this exhibit will be held on Thursday, March 20, from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM. Today was pretty great. The classes were pretty fun. i saw a bunch of people i know.....and I had KFC! ^_^ =p
I also found out all the books I need and have the total for the 4 books i need to down to under $200. (I'd been stressing over them for the past few days....stupid not-scholarship-paid -for-books....)

That was the best part of the day.........except for the incident in the student lounge. It was the most epic battle of brushes my eyes have ever seen.
So now,without further adou, I present to you......
"You Know You're At An Art School When....."

ok,so im sitting there in the student lougne surfing the internet.....and in front of me are these three guys that are obviously in the drawing program at my school (grpahic design? i dunno :-p). one of them pulled out his art supply kit with everything and let the other two look and touch the stuff. I'm looking at the page im on,and then suddenly hear "YOU BASTARD!" and look up. Apparently,one of the kids cracked his brush. And it was tiny....but the guy was still a little mad,cause it was broke. Then he screamed "You have broken my brush.......You have commited a cardinal art sin! IK challenge you to a duel" and grabbed his brush. Then the other kid pulled out his brush from a pocket.....and the two started to duel in the lounge (like 3 others were there,it was pretty open) XD

I kept watching cause it was quite entertaining. Actually,at that point everyone within eye sight was cracking up. So--it went on for a few minutes......and then the third kid stood in the middle of the two and stopped them. He then grabbed the brushes from them quickly and looked at both seriously....."What do you say to each other?". Both said sorry to the other and the third guy said good. Then he said "Ok now,kiss and make up". Then both guys looked at each other,said "Hell no,now give us back our brushes!",and ran to punch the thrid guy. The last thing i heard,as they were chasing the guy,was "Theif! Thou foul knight hast thine brush!"

i kid you all not,that all actually happened. It was the funniest thing I've seen yet at that school........minus my multi-camera prduction classes final show..........Funniest Show EVER! XD
I have the feeling someone will claim this to be made up cause of it's absurdity.....but it's real I tells you--just like my bear story!!! >_<
So ya,today was fun. I hope tomorrow is somehow better =p

My youth group did a skit this past Wednesday.

It was a skit using the song "While You Were Sleeping" by Casting Crowns.

Pay attention to the words in the song and what the actors do. It's really a statement about how society has "fallen alsleep" to the fact that the holidays is all about Jesus, good will, and all the other stuff that's been lost to commerciallism and blindness in today's world.

NECBL Might Move Team Into Fraser For Next Season

I was reading emails and got an email that contained an article from the Daily Item. I then posted it on the Spirit Fan's Blog.......you can read it HERE

By the way the article sounds.....Lynn will have a baseball team next summer playing games at Fraser,even if it is only college ball.

I think that this is a good thing for the city. For one,the field will have upkeep and be in use regularly.
Another thing is that it.liek the Spirit,promotes the city in a positive light. And if this team comes in,I'll be sure to both attend games and try to help this franchise with video things much like I did with the Spirit--but hopefully moreso.

I've told my friends from the Spirit games and my work,LynnCAM,and both are excited for this team to move in. The Spirit gang are happy baseball is back and that we can all see each other again and LynnCAM is already talking about filming the games.

But on the Spirit blog someone wrte something in a comment that made me boil a little bit....."so what's the Big Deal #7 in the NECBL for the month of June? Who cares? How many games did they play in June? Whatever... It's a much lower quality baseball than Lynn fans are used to and deserve. Clancy said. "Fraser Field has been deemed a safe, family-friendly location for sporting events for people and families all summer long." It was Nick Lopardo & his staff that made Fraser Field all these things. They had monitored playgrounds, etc. I doubt the Giants will do the same. Hell the big news on their website is they contracted with a vendor to sell hot dogs, burgers & fries. IMO this is a lower class operation than the Spirit and bargain basement ball. As a Lynner I want more. Why settle for crumbs when we had the whole pie with Nick & the Spirit?"

Why settle for this? I'll tell you the God-honest truth.
Because,summed up, the people around here are fucking retarded. We had the whole pie.....some of us had watering mouths for it.....but most of us just ignored it. I don't blame Nick for leaving and I appreciate all he did. I blame the mayor in part for him leaving,which a lot of people mainly blame......but the main problem I saw for Nick and the reason for him to leave was the LACK OF FAN SUPPORT!!

This may not be the best thing that could happen--but it's something. It also shoupldn't be too bad....they seem like a good team with some goood players. This is probably the best we'll get for a while around here.....seeing as the residents of this area are moronic. A freind on the blog put it right "beggars can't be choosers"

As a Lynner,I'm still ashamed & am thankful someone is giving it a shot.
As a Lynner,I'm hopeing we can take THIS pie and enjoy it--not toss it aside

And besides they're a pretty good team:
The Giants finished 1st in the northern division with a 26-16 record. They maded it in the playoffs to the Northern Division Championship Series, but lost a best 2 out of 3 round to the eventual champs.
The Giants had the starting pitcher and manager of the year & the NECBL first team consisted of 3 Giants.
They're were voted as the 7trh best summer league team for June

This sounds like a pretty good team & decision to me.....what you guys think? I want feedback.....but if yoou post and are negative,don't hid behind an anonymous mask......those people disgust me.

I want to break away from the carefree nature and stupidity with which I conduct myself.
I want to ask you all (presumably 3 readers at this point =p ) two questions, one with a three part answer, and hear your answers........

1) I got asked this in my english class today and thought it to be a good one.
Sometimes events or little things we do everyday can define us. What are three things that define you?
When thinking of your answers think of this: Would you be the same person you are today without them?

**My answers,for those curious,are laughter/jokes,caring for my friends,and-of course-the Spirit games.**

2) I thought about this a few days ago.....Lynn is in deep trouble with all the crime and violence in this city,this is true.
But why do we let fear dominate our lifes in this city?

It reminded me of those marathon games against the Yanks in the ALCS in playoffs past.

And another thing that sucks is that it was former BoSox player Trot Nixon who started the Indians rally that ended the 11th with the final being 13-6.
But ya know what,there's always a plus side:
Tonight Manny hit a home run to help the Sox go on to tie the game. In doign so he surpassed Bernie Williams' all-time record for the most home runs in postseason history, with 23.

There was an interesting graphic up during the game today...
At Fenway Park for the past,about,3 years the playooff games played there have averaged to be 4 hours,2 minutes. Tonight's game was about 5 hours,20 min or so long and ended about 1:35 or so.
For once, I gotta admit,Joe Buck actually said somethign that made me chuckle *gasp*:
JOE BUCK @ 1:45ish: "Today in the east,tomorrow in other time zones............gosh,we're runnign out of time zones."

Now the two teams go to Cleveland for the next two games of the series. The ALCS will resume on Monday on FOX. Watch it. =]

ALSO: "The experts think this series will go to 6 games. Well,at least it will go to 5".......woohoo--I'm in with a group of experts. Take that suckas! XD

PS: The news featured a program selller who uses "unusual" methods too sell.......i think that guy's antics may haunt my dreams tonight...

The MBTA SUCKS

The MBTA must've picked today as "Don't Work Well For & Be Rude To Dave Until Noon-ish Day".....let me explain:
I get the bus every morning between 7:15 & 7:20 right acorss the street from the end of my street to go to school. Usually the drivers of the bus see me and start pulling to the side like 200 feet away from me. Today the person didn't--so when they were fiarly close and looked like they woudln't stoop I waved,the driver kept going for about 50 feet and stoopped to let me on. As I paid the fare the driver started yellign at me--like I'd done something wrong.

"I only let you on cause you looked liek you really needed the bus. You're supposed to stand only where there are T signs. You can't just randomly stand somewhere and expect to be picked up.....you need to stand at a T sign!"

I looked at her-basically-with my jaw down......the T sign was above me,clear as day. I spent the next 5 minutes basically arguing with her that she is blind--but she still felt compelled to yell at me. As soon as we got to Central Sq for my connection to Wonderland I left the bus in a hurry.

The next bus came on time and everyone got on---except one guy who got off immediately after,yelled,punched a mini-billboard,and walked off. I asked someone who'd been there for a while and they said the other bus never showed and he was pissed because a transfer thingy he got didn't work. I followed the crowd and was about to ger on when another person & myself saw another bus coming. We tried to figure out which bus it was to see if we could avooid cvrowding this bus too much.

I realised it was the wrong bus then got on. As the bus pulled away I head someone yell stop,hold on.....and i told the driver-who grunted and pulled aside to let her on. The black woman (this will come into play later) got on the bus and got yelled at--much like myself. He started yelling saying
"I can't just keep doign this. I can't keep letting you people on the bus then get yellled at while I'm doing my job. I gotta make up for that bus that broke down,so don't you yell at me" and kept ranting while the woman was kindly appologising and explaining why she got on just a second too late. After a minute she went to go sit down after swearing at the INCRDEDIBLY rude driver--and he just had the look of "shot me now" on his face.

Then after a few minutes I hear that wooman and another black woman talking--but one thing stoood out in particular....."Oh hell no--if he'd said you people to me he'd have been knocked out!" The two then continued to talk about that one fact in particular,and hsi general rudeness, for the rest of the the ride

What the hell?! Is it just me--or does it seem that a lot fo times when a person (mainly white) is agitated and says something like that to an african-american (and in particular-the women),not meaning it in a racial way,they interpret it as such.
GROW THE $#%^ UP!
Thats what's wrong with this world--if more people didn;t act like these idiots there would be less racism and the world would be a whole lot better off.

That type of stuff just really pisses me off,and I was going to ay something to them--but didn't.
Anyway.....the train ride to AI went smoothly-but then came after my class (around noon). the train was a full 10 minutes later than usual. This resulted in me BARELY catching the bus at Wonderland to get back to Lynn for work at LynnCAM.

But,ya--the MBTA fails at life and is extremly rude at times to random people for no apparent reason.

Ok,this is my official-official first post.
That first post was doen just to get an assignment done.... but I will make this oen the official "Why a blog?" post thingy.

What will I use it for,some of you may ask. WELL--I shall use this blog to do a number of things.....
POST VIDEOS I'VE MADE: Videos I've put on Youtube will appear here after they become processed.
SPORTS MUSINGS: Most specifically,baseball. I used to (and still love) the Spirit. i still post on the Spirit fan blog.....and encourage baseball fans in general to post there. Expect some of them to post on here
EVERYDAY EVENTS: Anything i find of interest that happens to me or in my presence during the course of the day I'll post here....for all to enjoy! ^_^
OTHER: Anything else (rants, opinions,etc.) can and probably will be posted here

I may even put some papers up here for people's opinions. Who knows.
